VQ9 Vauxhall at PVS 2009
This year the forum is too young (3 months old) to think about having its own stand so we joined up with XtremeVX and they helped us get the tickets. At this point on behalf of the VQ9 Vauxhall members that got tickets may I say a big thank you to MrsV6H for all her help.
All the members from VQ9 Vauxhall (5 in total) decide we were making a full weekend of it so all had a camping pass and arrived on the Friday evening. We were pitched up with XtremeVX who were a great group of people. Nice to finally meet the founder of the forum - V6H.
Once there we met up with other members of VQ9 Vauxhall over the weekend that had made arrangements with other forums for their tickets. It was good to put some faces to names. Also it was great to meet members of other forums and who knows some of them may even sign up for VQ9 Vauxhall.
Over 2500 Vauxhalls on Display
There was every kind of performance and modified Vauxhall at the PV Show. From stripped out 11 second Novas to incredibly-styled Vectra show cars.
Run What Ya Brung
Owner could run their cars up the world famous Santa Pod drag strip on the Saturday and Sunday. The cost was £20 for 4 runs, the strip tickets where available on the day at the sign-on office. People who ran the strip got a print out to prove your times.
Trade Area
There were some bargains to be had in the trade area which was a little disappointing and I thought there would have been a lot more traders there. The stands sold everything you need for your performance Vauxhall, from tuning services to bodykits and alloys to spare parts.
Best Club Car Competition
Owner's clubs each nominate one car from their stand, to form a display that represents the cream of the UK performance Vauxhall scene. One car would take away the title of PV 2009 Best Club Car.
Park ‘n’ Pose
A chance for non-club members to show off their cars. The space was limited and was opposite the bottom end of the trade stands running down to the club stands.
Drag and Jet Car Demos
There was also a spectacular demo run from the 270mph Fireforce jet car which was an awsome sight but be warned take some ear plugs if you go to see it. Also Andy Frost’s took his road legal 2200bhp Vauxhall Victor up the strip several times.
You can read the views of our member on the PV Show on our forum so why not join us.
