Golden Acre Park is one of those places that is nice all the year around. There is just something about the park that leaves me feeling good about myself.

The kids love it too, they love feeding the ducks and other water foul that can be found in the park. There is plenty of open areas for them to run around and play games whilst the adult relax and watch them exhaust there selves. If you like to take photographs then Golden Acre Park is one for you, scenery is plentiful and wildlife shots are easy to get without hiding in bushes for weeks on end.

A wide variety of wildlife can be seen at Golden Acre Park and through the neighbouring Breary Marsh, including water voles, mink, waterfowl, migrant warblers, nuthatches, moorhen, coots, great crested grebe, freshwater crayfish (on the Red Data List of endangered species) and the site is even listed in the Invertebrate Site Register for West Yorkshire as a site of potential importance of notable species.

The Park is situated about six miles from the centre of Leeds at Bramhope on the A660 Otley Road. It consists of approximately 137 acres of mature woodland and gardens surrounding an attractive lake. A comprehensive variety of trees and shrubs, as well as herbaceous and aquatic plants has been added in recent years.

Golden Acre Park opened in 1932 with a huge amusement park, boating lake, miniature railway and many rides and attractions. The attraction failed, closed and fell into disrepair. The park was taken over by Leeds City Council in 1945.

Access from the car park is via a steep path to underpass or across busy road. Wheelchair users may require assistance. There is limited 'disabled' parking alongside the Cafe. The circular walk is on flat, metalled and gravel paths. There is a manual wheelchair available from the shop. The Blenheim Courtyard, Display House and Demonstration Garden are easily accessible to disabled people. And the park contains picnic tables, gardens with seating and a caf with toilets.
