I don't know what's got into you tonight Charlie, you're obviously confusing my car with my wife ;)
The main difference is the car is more co-operative.

Sounds like time well spent. Its a great feeling when you have done some work on your car and for whatever reason it feels like it is faster. All credit goes out to you for keeping her running and thanks for sharing with us.

We haven't had any news of the old girl for a while Charlie. What have you done to her?

Got the carb set up correctly, eventually got for a decent run last Sunday. Felt it had never run better, Just pulls and pulls, if I had pulled like it when I was younger I would have gotten laid a lot more. Got back home and decided to give the engine bay a quick once over, took the rad cap off (it had cooled a little at this time) and the water level was low but not too much. Added some hot water and noticed what looked like some beads of oil floating on the water. B!"?$%^&*()_+X !

There is no water in the oil that I could see and no steam out the exhaust. Havn't had the time to investigate further, plus I have just begun building a garage for it. So it may have to wait a while.

Meant to update. Was advised to flush the coolant and see if it returns, it didn't so it seems baby wanted to give daddy a [censored]ht. Baby will be scolded later with a heavy right foot.

Boy! That just doesn't sound right, does it?

Update! The old exhaust was rotten so I decided to upgrade. I had bought some resonator tips about a year age but had never been fitted. Now I have to change the lot. The rest of the parts I got from Jetex. For the moment I have left the manifold, though it will be replaced at some stage. I have installed 2" tubing to the first box and then 2 1/2" over the rear beam, split into two and exiting out onto the two 3" resonator tips. The sound is WOW but not too noisy. Now I think I have made a bit of a mistake with the rear branch so I will have to redo this but otherwise I'm happy with the result. I will have pictures up when I get to redo the back section. Comments will be required on the tips as I am not too sure if they are too big for the car but at the time they were the smallest I could get.
