porsche riveria blue gte
« on: March 01, 2009, 04:53:50 PM »

ok, as iv said before iv got a project on the go. its a 1989 gte 16v shell. it has a few mods done. koni shocks and apex 40mm lower springs, cav v6 brakes with goodbridge brake lines, custom rear strutbrace, spare wheel well removed, snap-off wheel. it cane with 2 new front floorpans, new slam pannel, new lower x member, 2 new ball joints. so what do you think, dose anyone remember it? it was in revs mag in 2000 and has been on mig and astra mk2 for about 8 years...

if the weather is ok tomorrow i will be getting some work done. iv done the drivers floorpan and the holes in the back. and the other day i striped thr pedal box, steering system and the foam on the bulkhead.

will it matter if i dont put the foam back? it keeps water behind it and never drys out.

to be honest mate the foam is only there to soften the engine noise going into the cabin,i was going to take it off my cav but cant be bothered cos of the brake pipes, servo etc etc, might do it for next years show season though.

lots take the foam off because of what you say , but the engine noise is bad  so get a good sound system to damp it down

this is what i done today,
under this plate threr was a drain hole, but the rubber bung was missing and the rust had got in.. then next to that u can see the small hole, this was the petrol pipe bracket that had rotted off

then the small plate gose on

then just to make it thicker to re-mount the petrol line bracket
