Just lifted the Fronty
« on: May 17, 2009, 01:58:14 PM »

Finally got round to lifting the Frontera!

Firstly jacked her up with the farm jack and sat her on axle stands

Then removed rear wheels and released anti roll bar link and bottom shock mount

Then the rear axle will drop far enough to remove coil spring

Assembled spring and spacer

And then refitted spring and spacer, Job done!! :yahoo:

Front lift is just a case of winding up the torsion bars until desired height is reached

Looks good. How high can you go with that sort of mod?

There are a few different ways to go with a lift. You can go up to about 4" with the supension and then a couple more with the body lift.

You make it look so easy mate, if that had been me, i'd be stuck under it 'til the RAC came to get me out.
I take it you needed extra ride height for off roading?

It generally was as easy as it looked. I went offroading a couple of weeks ago without the lift and coped well. Cant wait to go again now the lift has been done

I seem to remember people going offroading somewhere near Marshside, not sure if it was just a private arrangement with a local farmer though.

Although Marshside is technically outside Thanet, if the place still exists we could use it as the first Planet Thanet off road meet.
