saying hi
« on: March 18, 2009, 02:13:22 AM »

Hi People. Obviously a newbie. Just thought I would show you my new member of my family and my other motors.

Have recently bought this old girl. Was originally bought as a bit of a toy but fell in love with her and now drive her more than my other motors. My "usual" car is a 2.5 V6 omega estate. The Senator believe it or not drives a lot better and is so much faster then the Omega.

It had 11 months MOT, 5 months tax, 4 new Goodyear NCT5 tires and all electrics work.

And the best bit is its only done 83k.

Have just bought new coolant float so the coolant level warning light is now off. Have put new, totally blank (apart from reg number obviously) number plates on her and finally found a brand new vx badge for the bonnet.

The drivers door I think had been resprayed at some point as it had microblistered all over. So we stripped it right back and resprayed it all.

The rear arches which usually go are mint.

The back drivers side door had got a bad rust patch on the outer lip so we cut that out and resprayed it.

The car also came with 4 alloys exactly the same as those already on it. They haver now been sandblasted and I'm currently in the process of spraying them and the wheel middles in an alloy colour. The drivers external door trim has got about an inch missing but a member of another forum I'm on (Autobahnstormers) is posting me one soon. Still not had chance to wet and dry and mop it yet. Will post pics when I do it. Not bad for ?100!!!!!!!

Above is a "little man" with my trophy for loudest I.C.E at car show

I modified the centre console so It now houses a 7" screen.

This is door damage from system. 25HZ for a long period is not good for your doors :D

This is my highest score to date. 149.6db @24HZ

This is my family car. 2.5 V6

And last but not least. LOL. My mini moto,

She has sports exhaust, racing reeds, performance air filter, performance sparkplug and lead, and fast flow fuel filter. She also has a NOS system fitted and a digital speedo.

Well, Hope i havn't bored you too much and you liked the pics

Hi there Bighed,
Welcome to VQ9, love the Astra and looks like you got a bargain with the Senator.
When you get time you can put them in the relevant showroom galleries.
Cheeers.
Mike. :hi:

They're fine here for the moment, I'm too tired to work out how to move them anyway.
Most people just say hello in this section, then post pics of their cars in the various galleries.
At the moment it has become the fashion to post pics while saying hello.
Anyway enjoy the forum, I'm sure you'll make a lot of new friends here. :good:

Hi Mr Bighed and welcome to the forum.

You have some nice motors there m8 would love to hear a little more about them. At the momemt we don't have a Senator Showroom but if you post about it in Other Vauxhalls we will make one for you.  :D

There is also an ICE section where you can tell us more about that sound system. All this will help your post count  :D

Cheers and once again welcome.

Got used to it with no NOS at first. Did about 35mph. I get it to full blat then hit the nos. Does upto 50mph on a good day. Dont use nos too much as the piston would probably melt from the heat lol.
