Welcome Amanda.  :good: Nice to have you with us, and we hope you will stick around. We're all really friendly, if there is anything we can help you with, please ask

Your Nova with it's modest engine is nothing to be ashamed of. I used to have a D reg Nova Club 1.2 a few years ago (until it was stolen  :'( ), it was a cracking little car. I would have another one if I was offered one.

So, what's the plans with the car? Look foward to the pics and updates

Thankyou, well so far its been lowerd on fk coilovers with upgraded brake disks, Has a 4-1 exhaust manifold thats been painted Blue to match but i think the majority off the paint has come off now, it has a peko exhaust system and usually has white cesaro's, currently got black ones on now though for the winter so its looking very sorry for its self and is in need of a good clean. Also has clear rear lights which im not to sure off and are coming back off.
Have not got too much planned for it as of yet. Trying my hardest to fight the persistent rust and it has accumelated a few dents one nasty one on the bonnet which appeard when i went shopping as it sat in the car park. So just trying to de dent and fight rust with new doors and repair panels but this wont happen untill the summer now.
Sorry to hear it got stolen, thats my worst nightmare.

Plans sound good. Just one thing though.... rust on a Nova.... surely not?  :sarcastic: My Nova had loads of rust underneath  :suicide: I had taken her off road to get it all welded up, when it got stolen from my mates yard.

Thankyou again :) ... Quick question though just out if interest, why is it called vq9? I guess V is for vauxhall but i cant really work out the rest?

Erm, V in the VQ9 title has nothing to vith Vauxhall. I can't remember where Darryl (Netwalker, site owner) got the name from. It's on here somewhere... I'll see if I can find it  :search:

Found it:  http://www.vq9.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,300.0.html

Thanks again, ah i see, no i didnt mind at all sorry it took so long for me to get on here i left the card in my car for ages.

i think i may off seen your calibra about :)

Nova's are just to easy to steal, mine had been previously stolen from an old lady but luckily it was returned by the police but had been broken or something, so a guy brought it off her and rebuilt it (so he says) then sold it on to my grandad who gave it to me a few years ago, was really funny becasue the guy who sold it to my grandad i met at a garage and recognized it so i learnt quite a bit about its history. So its been pretty well looked after.

80's to mid 90's Vauxhall's were really easy to steal. Don't think Vauxhall had mastered things like decent door locks and steering locks. When my Nova got nicked, the thieving w@@@@rs had very kindly left the steering lock assembley behind. The whole lock assembley had sheared in half, where they had forced the steering lock. Having said that, no car is completely theft proof, no matter what security you have.  >:(

It's always nice to hear that Nova's are being saved, there can't be that many left now, especially near standard ones. I have seen a few appear on ebay, but they go for stupid money.

Anyways, back on topic, it's always good to know the history of your car. I know the history of my van...... for the past 3 1/2 years, it's been abused and neglected. But I'm on a mission to get her sorted.....
