My Calibra 4x4 build - all Diy.
« on: June 09, 2011, 09:33:26 AM »

So far the story begins.....

Ive owned an 8v calibra about 2 years ago, - she took me to 135mph...... what a beaut...I loved her so much i had to get a noicer spec model

a year later purchased a Calibra 4x4 non turbo redtop  which had been off the road for quite some time ........say since 1992 (last tax disc ) after much work on weekends mostly by myself, (im not the strongest of people )

I changed - Cluch - transfer box, full suspension.

and now shes going under some major modifications,

Firstly a full race over wide arch body kit, flush boot, caravan rears - Still in smoothing process
( Lots of work to go :( )

Currently i am refurbing a nice set of 18" Chromes for her feet.

I then purchased the following engine to go in her :

 Calibra Turbo 2.0l 16v engine.

factory recon. 65K miles. 86.5mm bore

head de-porous mod with external oil feed.

ARP rodbolts

Cometic 1.9mm gasket with ARP headstuds.

comes with Magnecor KV85 plug leads

comes with alternator, inlet manifold, fuel rail, enlarged 60mm tophat, starter motor,

sump doesnt leak (xev baffle plate/seal fitted)

modified breather system included..

engine was in a Corsa B, have dyno printout for healthy 305bhp and 335 lbft. (on a turbo dynamics stage 1 turbo)

I have sourced an early F28 MEchanicle drive GETRAG gearbox - without a diff for 150.00 - removed my f20 diff just need a damn bearing now! )
