Cheers mate. Unofficially, she's on the road. Got to tax and insure it, then sort all the other stuff out first...

Cheers Baynie mate.... I'm in full agreement with you mate. I know servicing was never done on time with her, (it previously used 7 days a week and clocking up silly miles a week), but you don't fit dead pads. Even more so when new ones are only about £20.

Unfortunately, the horror story doesn't end with the dead brake pads. The two guide bolts that attach the caliper to the hub, the threads in the hub have been stripped out  :suicide: Quite how they've managed it is beyond me, as the threads on the bolts are both perfectly fine.  >:( So need to find me a new/ replacement hub as well as pads and discs. Also, I have noticed that the inner CV boot has split on the passenger side drive shaft. Fun times ahead  :sarcastic:

As a result of my findings, the old girl is definitely grounded until further notice.  :'(

Chelsea will be fun, it always is  :sarcastic:  I'll post some pics up of the event during my time down there. It'll most likely be the weekend when I post the pics, as I'll be having too much fun  :sarcastic: to upload them until then

:good: Cheers mate. As I said, I'll take lots of pics for you all to see. It is my intention to be out of there by Saturday at the latest. That place does my head in.

Chris, I'll see if I can blag you a couple of tickets for next year.... That is supposed to be the best one ever. I am led to believe that it's London's turn to host something called the olympics. No idea what that's about  :sarcastic: , so all the exhibitors will pulling out all the stops

Well, after getting the hump at Chelsea (I'll update that thread later), I have finally been able to spend some time on the van.

Went to see my local dealer, who kindly sold me a set of front brake pads. Spot the difference between the two?

Also made a start cleaning out the coolant circuit  :bad:

The brakes are a lot healthier now they actually have some friction material on them.

My Chelsea thread will be up dated shortly, just uploading my pics to photobucket

I have found the perfect cure for nagging women..... but as it's a family orientated site, I'll leave it to your imagination

Well, the old girl is still behaving herself. Haven't replaced the oil cooler yet. The coolant circuit has been flushed out and refilled with plain old tap water for time being. So far, the oil has stayed where it's supposed to be; in the engine. I'll see how the next few weeks go....

She's still not on the road at present, and I still haven't put my alloys on  :blush2: All good things come to those who wait..... or something like that.  ::)

Cheers mate. I'm going to replace the seats for either Astra SRi/ SXi Recaros or Vectra B Recaros. I'm led to believe that Vectra B seats will fit straight in. She may be poverty spec (Envoy), but Vauxhall certainly know how to do cheap. I reckon they must have forgot to put padding in the seats.... They're not exactly comfy

technically Damo it is actually recaro who made the seats, so they are to blame for the uncomfy coushion
