What a nightmare of a day yesterday ive sold my sri 140 so i could get my v6 out to play since its been stood since October. So sri gone cash in my hands im happy. The v6 was stored about a mile from where i live so i booked her in for test went to pick it up it started fine nothing to worry about went to the petrol staition put ?20 in and went home to check trye pressures etc pulled up outside my garage and guess what it drops a pot Bugger 5 cylinders. So i thought maybe is cause its been stood so let it run for a while still 5 pots checked the plugs not they wasnt to bad but since theyre out 1 new set of plugs and leads pleniums back start it up [Censored] 5 pots still. So heres the fun bit i took it to vauxhall for them to plug in no faults at all they said that my egr pipe must be cracked i thought cant be iut would still run on 6 pots i asked them to check the coil pack fine they said. I thought it was coil pack from the off but with them saying that home again pleniums off again checked the manifold and egr no cracks. Took the coil pack off a mates v6 pluged it into mine guess what shes bk on 6 pots result i was right vx mechanic was wrong so one new coil pack ordered ?114 in vat and i should be on the road for the weekend. Just like to say as well thanks to Craig Diabblo for the help yesterday morning as well.

Just goes to show, electronic diagnostics do not compensate for an incompetent mechanic.

to be totally honest Vauxhall technicians dont give a monkeys about the cars,they are not vx heads,have no enthusiasm for them and no passion whatsoever,if the tech 2 says no fault they dont want to know,too much effort,so its good to see you perserved steve and got the v6 sorted :good:

Got a new coil pack today from partco ?98 inc vat so shes back together and running on 6 pots :good: mot all being well tomorrow and tax, :good:

Anxious time there for you H. You take it to VX because you persune they will tell you without doubt what the problem is, and what do you get?

Well you know mext time not to give them your hard earned pennies.

The other thing that got me was i went back today and told the masterfit manager what was WRONG  he said I TOLD YOU IT WAS COIL PACK what a tit.

Do I rant? Sometimes I get to the point quickly. I don't want to use up your entire server capacity.

I do hate incompetence. Was it the same person you went back to tell them what was wrong or someone else. Was it one employee or the entire workforce that was incompetent?
