Hi boys and girls..

Does anyone have an idea as to how much a good X20XEV engine and exhaust downpipe is going to set me back for my mk3 Astra Sport????

why's that i didn't think they ever made one 

you could probably pick up a cheap Xev off cc.net and it just so happens i know a man with a xe downpipe

My current C18XEL is dying again  As a result, I am not going to pour anymore money in to it. A X20XEV would be better suited to the abuse I give the car.

what sort of buse you on about Damo?

if it's verbal the x20 is good at that  the amount of times i opened up the bonnet and started shouting at it  but for foot down fun you should really be looking at an x25

Foot down play time abuse is what I was reffering to. Obviously the v6 option would be the best bet, but as I do enough electrical work during the week, I would preffer not to do it at the weekend as well. With the X20XEV, it would literally be a case of binning off the 1.8 lump and dropping in the 2.0, with only a downpipe needed to complete the job. In the words of Alexander the Meer Kat...... simples.

whats the Bhp diffrence then damo?

i know the x20 is 136Bhp but no idea what the c18is

On the C18XEL engine, the standard figure is 115 bhp... where as the C18XE engine is 123. However, the C18XE engine has been known to produce upto 140bhp in factory standard form.

As Tazz said before, the C18XEL is a good engine, but mine just wants retiring off, or a shed load of cash spending on it.... which I can't justify doing

nowt wrong with 115Bhp infact i think thats the perfect amount  when you get one let me know

Thanks mate  , as I said to you before, it was a pleasure to be of assistance. 

It won't be for a while yet as need to raise some pennies and have alook around to see what's on offer. Not in any real rush to sort the heap out, as to be honest, I'm starting to resent her again! All money and no fun  :'(

 As I said to Vinny earlier on, it won't be for a while as I need to raise some pennies and find a decent lump...... but I will give you both a  when I have all the required bits.
