Stuck my nova on the rollers on friday (457bhp)
« on: December 21, 2009, 01:04:33 PM »

Just been spammed by the forum telling me I havent been on here for a while, so thought I would pop back and share my latest update on my mid engined RWD vauxhall nova.

It made 457bhp @ 6800rpm :D
Wasnt able to get the boost control working well enough for a full boost run, that figure was at 1.55 bar, going to need to revisit how the boost control works as I would like to get another third or half a bar into that ideally if I stick with this turbo, although TBH im thinking maybe rather than go for more power it would be better to come down a turbo size and still see the same power but have earlier spool, as I think more repsonsive would improve the car more than yet more power really.

Clean as whistle on full chat :D

Manifold was loving it too, lol

Big thanks to Matt@Mtech Automotive for his patience running it up again and again and again just to keep getting the same figure everytime while I tried and failed to get any more boost into it!

Nice to have you back and looking good there. Did you take and video of the run? Would be nice to see and hear.

457bhp is nothing to be sniffed at i any car let alone something as light as a Nova. Bet you were pleased with those results.

Yeah im quite pleased with it.

I still have some mapping left to do though to make it drive a little better.

Getting there now though.

Been long enough in the making, lol

Its alreaddy quite quick but needs about another 80bhp to match the power to weight ratio of a veryon, lol

Its my staff car for Total Vauxhall mag, so you have probably seen it there.

That spec list is a little out of date actually, ive changed to stelite exhaust valves, rs200 lifter shims and an F23 with a quaiffe diff now
