Hi all,
Just a small update. Today I have been been chasing electrical gremlins in my wreck, namely the clockset destroying it's "circuit board". With a dead clockset, (only half illuminated, no rev counter, temp or fuel gauges and no low fuel warning light!) the trip computer would display a big f on the screen
Anyway, after discussing it with Tazz on Saturday (cheers buddy, it is appreciated

), I eventually found the problem. It turns out that one of the earth connections attached to the bulkhead was loose, causing a faulty earth. Tazz very kindly donated me a replacement "circuit board" from one of his old cars.

Unfortunately, this didn't fit my clockset, as there was a few differences between the two. It did however come in handy to replace the burnt out tracks and the donation of a "new" voltage stabilizer unit. With the aid of some very delicate soldering, I now have a fully functioning dashboard again!

As I had spent most of the day inspecting and repairing the electrical system on my car, I decided to add a three way "cigarette lighter socket" to the dash of my car. The reason for this was so I can keep my satnav, phone and pda on charge whilst in the car, instead of having to switch between them all using the car's original cigarette lighter socket. All that remains to be done on that is to find an alternative route for the above cable, at the moment it is hanging down by the side of the stereo. That's tomorrows job, along with pictures..... Vinny will only moan if I don't add the pics!
