Well today I planned on getting my colour coded handles fitted, so went down to the garage, got the car out and set about it! managed to get the original handle off - in the process managed to grate my arm which now looks like I've self harmed  and got the new one in.... to then find the back ones use vectra backing plates not astra ones, not like the front doors that use astra plates!! so now I've gotta go back to the scrappy and find 2 backing plates and then grate my arm some more, ahhh!!!

Oh well. On the bright side, I did clean the inside up a bit and also got the rca lead that will be running from the boot to under the drivers seat in place and found my original orange side repeaters which will be getting a tinting session very soon!

does your Astra have the standard immobiliser? if so you will have to get it programmed

them ebay keys dont come with slugs neither

It does indeed have an imobilsor but doesn't have a chip in the key... same as my other car, I spoke to someone before and they said if it's not in the key it must be somewhere near the ignition.. oh well!!

Those keys come from a company called rightclick so not ebay china rubbish :)

if it has an immobiliser what would be the point in having it near the ignition and not on the key.

The sport will have an imobilisor as standard but that doesn't have it's original key, it has some crap copy thing!!

that's the point Ben if the slug is near the immobiliser it kinda defeats the object of having one,so in theory anyone could steal your car.
also i think your insurance would be void,as it would be like leaving your keys in the car (im just guessing)

Well it'll defo have one as its a sport and they have them as standard, it could well be in the new key, so will have a look when I get my flip key set :)

Im getting one of those sets too Ben. Apparently they are pretty good. Mine doesnt have an immobiliser. Well i dont think it does....

if you take the cap off your key you should have a black chip(slug) in it someplace if not you haven't got an immobiliser
