Some of you will know the car from MK3OC but I fancy a change at the moment so going to do a diary here!! The car is a 1.4 Mk3 Astra CD, nice spec and nice to drive! cost me £250!!

This is what it looked like when I first got it!!!






Then it looked like this for a while:





Then as of yesterday, it now looks like this!






The tinted rear lights I did a while ago, along with various other little things but the interior was the main point!! I'm tempted to leave the grey trim with the black seats/door cards as in my eyes, it looks alright!! although the grey will definitely be getting some treatment with the heat gun to bring it back to a fresh look!

Plans? Don't have many really but:

- finish of red stripe on bumpers
- remove bump strips
- paint passenger side drum and caliper black
- spray and fit my gsi spoiler
- maybe change my grill
- fit new number plates (sat on dash)
- get it mot'd and tax'd ready for first weekend of november!!

that does look tidy mate
imo things missing are.....vq9 stickers,a propper gear box  :lol:
have you thought about a leather interior? and are ya gonna led the dash?
the wheels and painted drums/calipers and rear lights sets it off a treat

Don't want to sound harsh but please don't start with the gearbox, had enough of that on mk3oc... hence my time here ;)
I was learning in a manual car, can drive a manual car but my insurance is nice and cheap in this, it has it's problems which can be sorted and will do me perfectly for my first year or so driving :P

And yeah I have thought about led's, my car looks like this atm :P

And no, my mileage isn't that low, my last set of clocks broke so got replacements but couldn't be [censored]d to change the mileage! lol!

i was thinking jesus thats low milage....lol
i wasnt having a dig about the gear box bud but i had a 1.4 mk3 years ago with a propper box and it was sooo slow,didn't know it was your first year either so my bad  :blush2:

we at vq9 like every vx and we welcome all  :good:


but i gotta say thats a better first car than i had.

I love it, thankfully I got the MPi engine so a bit quicker and a bit nicer!

I know mate and yeah, I started lessons, was close to booking my test but screwed up my theory and just didn't get back into lessons :( but! I'm going to do a course in January to get me driving ready to go back to college after Christmas, drive every day instead of an hour travel each way on the bus!!!

Just noticed you're that far away from me either  :good:

Yeah get driving mate first thats the start!!
And the thing is if you get this looking sweet as a nut and after a year or so you fancy a manual you could do an engine transplant anyway!
I do really like the LED's in the interior!

That or go 2.2 or 2.5 v6 auto ;) something a bit different!

Yeah the led's are a must in any car really, they make such a nice subtle difference!

how far away is not far then?

3.2 at your age  :lol: my first car 10 years ago was a 1.2 Nova (£800 tpft) and only after 10 years can i afford a 2.5  :yes:

Better stopping with a smaller engine and having it looking good. No point giving all that money to the insurance companies when it can buy loads of stuff for your motor.
