My number 2
« on: October 01, 2009, 12:45:28 PM »

I just realised if I was juvenile I would be sniggering at my choice of title but anyway here goes.
Welcome to my new GT.

It's a 1:18 scale model and very hard to get. I have been trying to find one for a while and now I have it. My new GT is going to take pride of place in my small collection of models, but for now it will stay in it's box.

Nearly as much as a real one but I also found out one of my other models has nearly tripled in value in a few years. Mind you I didn't collect them for their future value but it is nice to know.

By the way I got the box and from a collectors point of view the box is more important. It only came out of its box for the photos. I've been collecting them for a while now, but only cars that I like and only in 1:18 scale. They take up a lot of room so I don't have too many.

Nice to know that they appreciate in value... i have a few ( not as many as Tazz ) but mine are of the Trans am variety.

I just had a quick count and I have 39 models. Mostly sports cars, some German DTM, some GT endurance racers, 3 rally cars but all are cars that I like. That's why I bought them. Most don't increase much in value. It's usually race cars that appreciate. The one that I saw increase three fold is a Gulf Maclaren F1.

Problem is that I can't play with most of them.

Nice shot Charlie and great detail in the model.

Nice to see you are playing with your new camera but I have a few questions slightly off topic.

Why are you using auto mode and why shoot at 800 when you are using the flash? Also using red-eye reduction only wastes your battery :good:

Like you say, I'm playing with it but sometimes not enough. At this stage auto is quick and handy, and the battery lasts for ages. It is still a case of I'm not sure what I'm doing, but if you are going to be keeping an eye on me I had better learn quickly. :D

From the results I have seen so far Charlie you are doing a great job and have a good eye for a good shot. I have a feeling it is like teaching granny to suck eggs :D
